Wood Type
There are more than 150 wood type faces.
The wood type collection was transferred to The University of Texas at Austin's Art and Art History College Department in 1993.
During the 19th century, there was never more than three or four manufactures running at the same time, creating these wood types.
The two main states of wood type were Connecticut and New York at the time.
Once Holly wood types started to be manufactured in the 1880-1890s, it made the company a lot more money because they were cheaper to make and they raced ahead in competition.
